Mohamed A Nur |
It’s been a month ever since Dar-based businessman,
Mohamed A Nur publicly made declarations to vie for presidency in Somalias
coming elections.
The 45-year-old Nur came with his family to Tanzania
in the mid-1980s, shortly before the Horn of Africa country plunged into
lawlessness followed by two decades of civil war and without any effective
administration until 2012 when a formal central government was established.
Mohamed says it is not strange for him to vie for
presidency in his home country, for a significant number of the current leaders
were in diaspora before they took up the positions.
Mr Nur added lately he had been to Mogadishu several other
Counties to lay ground for his campaign for the highest office in his troubled
country.

He remarked that although Somalia has been saddled
with what he described as "terrible" leadership and terrorism, he is
very optimistic about his country's future.Mr Mohamed says he has a new vision
for Somali – of a prosperous, modern country where every citizen can live freely
from fear of poverty and safety in their homes.
His new vision is based on providing a new Government
which will be willing to tackle both the problems of his country and help seize
great opportunities. A new government that will bring a simple solving approach
to do its work and not with endless excuses. That work will be based on four
road map visions:
